A bit about me…

At the age of 15, I left my home country of South Africa to pursue my dream, and attended a ballet school in the UK, a decision that would lead to unforeseen opportunities. Over the span of 15 years, I enjoyed a fulfilling career as a ballet dancer, performing with esteemed companies such as Vienna Festival Ballet, Weiner Ballett Theater, London City Ballet, Royal Opera, English National Opera, and London Ballet Theatre, among others. I graced the stage in timeless classics like 'Swan Lake', 'Nutcracker', and 'Romeo and Juliet' (where I portrayed Juliet!), and even had the privilege of appearing in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical 'Phantom of the Opera'— perhaps the pinnacle of my career.

However, life sometimes presents unexpected challenges, and it's how we respond to them that truly defines us. In 1996, I suffered a serious back injury, prompting me to reconsider my path and redirect my focus. I transitioned into teaching ballet and pilates at the Arts Educational School in London and Pilates at the Central School of Ballet. Today, I continue to share my expertise as a guest teacher at the London Junior Ballet.

In 1997, I embarked on a rigorous two-year Pilates training programme with the
esteemed Pilates Foundation UK, becoming a proud founding member. But my journey
didn't end there—recognising the interconnectedness of physical and mental
well-being, I delved deeper into various disciplines, obtaining professional qualifications
in CranioSacral Therapy, Sports Remedial Massage, Reflexology, Myofascial Trigger
Point Release, Gyrotonic, Aerobics and Buff Bones® - the osteoporosis exercise method.
Additionally, I hold a degree in Anatomy and Physiology, and I'm honoured to be
listed in the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners (CAM) and
the Pilates Method Alliance.
